into deciding that it’s time for you to have an
animal companion. That’s what happened to
the 7-year-old me. I wanted to get either Benji
the dog or Flipper the dolphin. My parents
thought a dog was more reasonable, so Richie
the puppy entered my life.

Taekwondo is a Korean martial art that
has been around for many years. In Korean,
the word “tae” means “to strike or break with
the foot”; “kwon” means “to strike or break
with the fist”; and “do” means “method”, “art”
or “way”. That’s why “taekwondo” loosely
translates to “the way of the foot and fist”.
