Hi kids!
Happy new year! Welcome to 2010 and a new issue of AGJ.
I had a lot of fun putting this issue together. Asia is a wonderful
place to live, and it was no easy task to choose which creatures
and sights to feature in this Heritage Edition. I hope the stories
inspire you to treasure the world around you and that you’ll help
preserve our Asian heritage.
You probably noticed the pull-out poster that comes with the
issue. We didn’t make a mistake – it is blank for a reason. Every
issue this year, I’ll plan an art activity for you, which you have to
include on the poster. Turn to page 6 to find out more.
Dinosaur lovers, you’re in for a treat – the “Hollywood Dinos”
exhibition is on until February 21, 2010 at the Jurong Bird Park.
AGJ will have a booth there, so drop by and see us. Flip to
page 30 to read about the newfound fossil of the Raptorex.
For those of you who knew the previous editor, Sol Foo – she has
moved on to new experiences and travels around Asia. But she’ll
stay in touch, so you might see a story from her in future issues.
In the meantime, please keep sending me your letters, thoughts,
drawings and photos – I’d love to hear from you.
Your editor,
Winnie Leung
