One part of cultural heritage is the national dress of a group of people. It helps preserve a country’s national identity and gives citizens a sense of unity and patriotism. National costumes or folk dress usually relate back to certain geographic areas and can reflect class, profession, different time periods, marital or religious status and national colours or symbols. Some come in different forms for everyday wear and formal or festival wear.
